On my first safari to Kenya in Africa in 1998, we visited the rare white rhinos. While they had been relocated from South Africa because of overcrowding, they were new to Kenya and the fear of slaughter was so high, each Rhino had their own guard. They were huge. Prehistoric. But in their five year relationship with their guards, they were somewhat domesticated. One month after my return home, they were slaughtered by poachers. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
