The
day we scouted our first Class V rapid on the Bio Bio, I looked down and
noticed a kayaker floating in an eddy just below us. I gaped at him –
he was tucked in his little eddy just outside the raging water, and he was
actually taking photos of the rafters plunging into the rapids next to him.
I called down to him and raised my own camera – we had the same Nikon.
Thereafter, we rode many rapids together, and when he moved into video he
asked me to create his own slate logo. He's nuts, so there you have it.
